A new website for car insurance has been launched by ASAP, called car-hire-insurance.co.uk.

Many UK motorists may not actually be aware that they can save money on car hire by purchasing their car hire insurance from another company, rather than directly from the car hire firm.

At www.car-hire-insurance.co.uk drivers can tailor the insurance to fit their specific requirements. There are several different packages available so drivers can choose exactly what will fit their needs.

For example, motorists can purchase “Annual Express Car Hire Insurance” which provides 31 days excess cover on damage to the car they have rented, as well as theft and/or damage to tyres and windows. For cover in Europe alone this costs £49. For a fee of £65, this cover is worldwide. Both policies provide £2,000 worth of excess cover. Other policies are also available.

Such insurance cover is helpful to motorists in the increasingly expensive business of running and hiring a car. And with the recent volcanic ash issues, it seems a lot more people will be considering a car holiday this year rather than risking taking to the air and having their holiday cancelled altogether.
